...do I really have to explain?
ReplyDeleteCycle the tank, as in, allow beneficial bacteria to colonize the tank. Fish need this beneficial bacteria to survive. The bacteria help break down ammonia into nitrite and nitrite into nitrate. If you don't have this bacteria, ammonia builds up and kills your fish. Therefore, you have to cycle the tank before adding fish, or all of the fish die (unless you add fish that are very very hardy.) Is that a good enough explanation, or do you need a diagram, too?
care to explain please.
ReplyDeleteCYCLE THE TANK. I hate it when videos don't mention that you have to CYCLE the tank before adding fish!! SO AGITATING >_<
ReplyDeletehi your tanks is really nice, i know it takes times but i am getting a (about 70ltr) cold water tank in my room with no lights, obviously a filter and air pump though. i want it to be natural with sand or small stones and plants that will naturally root themselves in the substrate/on logs... any ideas on what plants will survive in a "beginners" tank and provide more oxygen to my fish and a more natural environment ?? thanks
