Future videos will include rearing fry, growing on fish and feeding methods. Basically, you need to keep the water at the parameters desired by the fish you are trying to breed and feed them well. if they are happy, they'll most likely pair off and breed. Most of the items mentioned in the video can be found here: www.ebay.co.uk Shop located at Prudhoe (about 10 miles west of Newcastle) Shop website: www.tynevalleyaquatics.co.uk Thanks for watching. ~I'd imagine that both set-ups were similar. Suitable sized tank and very good filtration. If you already have arowana then the flowerhorns would do well in the same tank (once the arowana was out)
Hi Richard, Is there any easy way where you can tell when your guppy fish will be giving birth. The state of play with our guppy fish is that there are two black sections towards of her body and she is slightly fat.
Yes, the easiest way is to put loads of tiny holes in the bottom of the bag and stick a hose in the top. Give it a shake from time to time and most of the dust will wash out through the holes.
For weak swimmers like guppies that may be a problem but provided there are parts of the tank with less current, the fish should find it OK. If you notice them tiring, adjust the outlet so it fires agaist the back wall to diffuse the current.
Hi, I have a u4 fluval filter running in my tank and i feel that my fish have to have swim a lot harder to get to the other end of the tank due to the current caused by the filter. Is this Ok ? Thanks
Its not so much how many fish you breed but what types. Aim for the rarer species and you could make money. You will need many dozens of tanks with a great set-up for growing on / water changing etc. to make any sort of serious money. Most people sell fish to pay for their breeding hobby.
Hey mate, I subscribed about a year ago for the bushcraft/hunting vids. But this looks interesting. Is it a good way to make money by breeding tropical fish? And how many tanks and room would you need to have the right resources to make money? Thanks
In Prudhoe, up the Tyne Valley. I have added a link in the video description to our website which has the full address details.

ReplyDeleteUsually when they are almost adult size. They will chase each other up and down the glass and then its time to get the mop in.
ReplyDeleteHow can you tell when cories are ready to breed? Or do you just stick the mop in and hope?

ReplyDeleteThey are egg scatterers so use java moss or a thick bed of marbles to protect the eggs / fry from the parents.
ReplyDeleteHow do you breed neon tetra?
ReplyDeleteI would always go sand personally.
