Yeah the reason why is that the ammonia-eating bacteria have processed the ammonia, turning it into ammonia. In a short while, the nitrite-eating bacteria will process the nitrite to turn it to nitrate. Nitrate can be removed from weekly water changes.
No it won't. Sharks and clown loaches need humongous tanks. Clown loaches need 150 gallon. Don't get a crab. Crabs need BRACKISH water. That means you need to miz marine salt with your water. Sharks and clown loaches can't live in brackish.
i am always hesitant about putting ANY chemicals (even conditioner) in tanks. where i live, the ph in the tap water is set by the water department at 7.1, and any small amount of chlorine in the water wont hurt your fish. also, adding live bacteria to a tank can spike the nitrites out of control. i have literally seen ppl throw live bacteria in a tank and the next day the nitrites are crazy high. bacteria will develope on its own, the key is 2 wait it out when first setting up the tank.
Im want to get silver sharks, red tails and clown loaches to start with. Going to go with a pretty elaborate set up ive got designed in my mind with a 3D background and tri color gravel. Want a crab or 2 as well. Should look fantastic when finished.
ok... what doesnt make sense is i have a 50 gallon fish tank and if i fill it with 50 pounds of rock ( gravel) it will be about 7 inches up inside the tank. its just stupid looking -__________-
Either but the best product for the live bacteria is Tetra Safe Start. I've used it many times

ReplyDeleteI'll get Ram cichlids, Ottos and a shoal of some sort of Nannostomus or Cardinal Tetra.

ReplyDelete@MrGman0909 I got my fish yesterday. 2 corys, 2 tigerbarbs, 2 pineapple swordtails, and 2 blue ice cichlids. how does the compatibility look to you?
