  5. How did you go on with the fish magazine compettion lad?
I got our lass to get two copies:-)

  6. The competition is in the July, August and September issues so the results won't be out for a while yet.
Here's hoping we get at least a mention but there are plenty of shops who have been around much longer and have many more customers than us unfortunately so I'm not holding my breath...
    Thanks for voting, man.

  7. Just add enough for the water which is going back into the tank. I suppose the ideal thing would be to add it to new water in another container then add to the tank but you can add the treatment before or after the new water - it really doesn't make much difference as your tank will cycle the water (new and old) through the filters so quickly it will all mix up together very quickly.

  8. so if you remove a couple of iches of water, how much of the stuff to get rid of the chlorine do you have to put in? and do you put the tap water in before or after its had the chlorine remover in it?

  9. If there are no chlorinates or other chemicals added to the water (well / spring) you will not need dechlorinator as there will be no treatment chemicals in the water

  10. When you say about a spring you dont need the conditioners, but out of the tap you do. What about if you live in the country and have your own well that doesn't use anything to clean the water. example chemicals, heavy metals....

  11. when I was younger I had the same with 2 goldies in and they lived about the same, but a goldfish will live 20+ years if it is kept in a nice filtered well maintained tank, but those goldfish in that tank will more than likley be stunted which means they will not grow any bigger as a goldfishes body stops growing but its internal organs keep growing whih eventually kills it search for a forum called petgoldifsh it has all the info you will need to keep goldfish. just some info the help you.

  12. Really, I know a kid, that has a 10L Starter Tank, with 3 Goldfishes that has lived 4 years or so in it? I just phoned his mother, and she told me she didn't have a filter or anything, just cleaned the water every week by emptying it and re filling it with tap water? and was barely dirty?

  13. I had 4 goldfish in a 60l tank and it was not fun having to clean the tank everyday cause they are extremley messy, they can also grow to 25cm so if you want to keep all 4 try get a 4ft 200l tank and they should live a full happy 20 years our if you live close to tyne valley ring up and see if they can rehome them for you and set up a tropical tank, which is much better as you can choose from hundreds of species of fish.

  14. 35 litres is way too small for 4 goldfish and the tank should be a minimum of 2' long, ideally much bigger. Goldfish ideally need to be in a pond.

  15. I'm planning to get more fishes, would a Hagen Elite 35 litres tank be good?

  16. Best thing to do is to have the goldfish in a pond but if they have to go into a tank it should be at least 2' long for the 4 fish. Filter should be suitable size for the tank plus 50% for goldfish since they are messy fish. For best advice, phone the shop on 01661844005.

  17. Hi, great video,

I just won 4 Goldfishes at a fair, next week I'm going to get a bigger tank?
What do I have to get for first timers? I don't know what filter and pump to get, I have no Idea where to start? Please help if possible.

    Many thanks in advance

  18. Unless you suck out all the gravel with the water when using a gravel cleaner its not going to remove the bacteria as that grows on / in gravel. I would get it done all in one go with a 10-15% water change every week, done with a gravel cleaner.

  19. I'm just starting out and I was told to do the gravel and algae cleaning at a different time from the water changing as it would take too much of the bacteria out. Should I clean separately or can i do the overall cleaning all in one day?
