ReplyDeletewhat is the point of jug fishing if you don't keep the fish? I can understand fishing with rod and reel, and releasing the fish afterwards due to the sport of the fishing and the actuality of fighting the fish. In my opinion, there is no sporting aspect to jug fishing, so why bother?

ReplyDeleteDon't really feel like you were running jugs. considering where th jug was placed and where you found it clearly something had been on it. Lucky u didn't snap the line. In South Carolina we run 50 jugs at a time, 4ft leads 6 ft off the bank. Best bait to use is Shrimp a legal bait, the garr don't tend to go after it as much and catfish love it. I usually have about 5-6 jugs "Fish-On" before I even set out one full cove.
