This video is the first in what will hopefully be a series of videos about setting up a Nano reef aquarium. In this video I describe the equipment I Use as well as show it all installed on the tank. I also fill the tank with RO/DI water and mix the salt. Please let me know what you think, if you have any suggestions or comments I'd love to here them, this is my first venture into the marine aquarium hobby so I've got some learning to do but I've been doing my research and acquiring as much knowledge as I can in hopes of having a good first experience in the reef world. So Again, let me know what you think, Comment, Rate, subscribe and I'll do my best to keep up, Thanks for watching.

wait! are you using rodi water! if your not, you should!
ReplyDeleteHey great video! I also have become interested in the saltwater aspect of fish keeping. I already have a 20 gallon tank and stand, but nothing else. I dont really know anything about saltwater and it would help a lot if you gave me some suggestions on equipment, and how much it costs in all. Thanks so much, and I'm looking forwards to another video!
ReplyDeleteI had that same skimmer shit sucked did nothing but leak but good job with the tank
ReplyDeleteMost Nanos dont have sumps
ReplyDeleteDoes that skimmer work?
ReplyDeleteA got one of those Skimmers for my 20 and it took forever to dial in. How did it work for you.
ReplyDeleteim setting up a saltwater corner tank tell me everything i need to know, how much, and the essentials get back to me asap
ReplyDeletefor just one small clown fish, a small amount of live rock would with good a current and weekly water chamges could problably handle the BIO load, although I still suggest the 1lbs of rock per gallon rule to be safe. Thanks for checking out my video, sorry it took so long to get back to you!
ReplyDeletenano's need sumps even more then a regular size.
ReplyDeleteIts a nano....
ReplyDeleteno sump tank? fail....
ReplyDeletethis is a great vid i have the tmc 30 litre i wanted one clown so i only put a small amount of live rock in is this okay?
ReplyDeleteSorry It took me a littl while to get back to you here. before live stock bu including live rock, around $500 and $600 i believe. Your most expensive part will be your lighting in my opinion. I also didnt by it all at onces, I spaced it out over time, was a while before i actually got my set up ready to go. hope this helps thanks for watching!
ReplyDelete@Aquariumsbyzero hope you change the filter often. Nitrate factory:/ I only run floss right after water change
ReplyDeleteLeast for me
ReplyDeleteDepending on what you already have, before livestock, around $380, at
ReplyDeleteIf you don't mind me asking, how much does a rig like this cost you?
ReplyDeleteNormally thats correct, but in this case since theres nothing in the tank but water and its the the initial set up, it dosn't really matter. You never want to fix the salt in an established setup with livestock. Thanks for watching!
ReplyDeletepretty sure your suppose to mix your water then add it ? not mix the salt in the actual tank

ReplyDeletecool good luck but it is bad to put aquariums next to doors!!! it frightens the fish.
ReplyDeleteNice setup you got going man. I have a 29 biocube that i set up as a reef. It is a challenge, but thats the fun of it in my opinion. Do your weekly water changes and you'll be good to go. I also started the looong process of a 75 gallon build. Keep up the good work..
ReplyDeleteis that soo!
ReplyDeletethanks for the vid. keep em commin i sub you sub
