Tropical fish Newcastle - Tyne Valley Aquatics - Aquarium and Pond Supplies

Tropical fish Newcastle - Tyne Valley Aquatics - Aquarium and Pond Supplies
A short video of some of the tropical fish, shrimps and snails we have, or have had in stock. With over 150 species of freshwater tropicals in stock, Tyne Valley Aquatics easily has the best range in North East England. All our tanks are individually filtered and each has its own net. As our water quality is so good, we have an excellent range of tropical freshwater shrimps in stock (which make excellent cleaners). Every week we get new and interesting species in, some rare. All healthy. All well looked after. When searching for aquatic shops near Newcastle, Durham, etc. forget the rest, use the best. All species are available for next day delivery with our guaranteed mail order service. Check the website for further details and a downloadable fish list: www.tynevalleyaquatics.co.uk For immediate stock checking, please phone the shop on 01661 844 005 as there is often a delay in answering emails when we are busy.

  1. Best to phone the shop on 01661844005 to check immediate stock but we normally have a good selection of shrimps, yes.
I do intend doing a better video with names also. I have done one on South American Cichlids (in playlist: Cichlids less than 10cm) which has names on and intend to do the same for livebearers, shrimps etc. in the future.

Any chance of an annotated version of this video with some of the fish names? I really liked this, would be great to know what they all are!
Also, do you normally have quite a wide range of shrimps in? Some of those looked beautiful!

  5. They are clown / rocket killifish (pseudoepiplatys annulatus). That was a breeding group and normally we only can get them in very small so not so colourful until they grow a bit bigger.

  7. Dude, is it too much effort for you to make any videos of your own?
Then you could maybe complain about other people's videos.....

  8. Is the effort to big if you put some names..?

  9. They are Hillstream Loach AKA Hong Kong Plec, but I'm not sure if they are the spotted or pinstripe variety as its a bit blurry. We normally get pinstripe type in.

  14. Some shops don't care unfortunately. As we're out of the way, our stock needs to be varied, quality and healthy so if people make a special trip to see us they won't waste their time.

  15. Lovely shop. I would kill to live near a fish store like that, we have plenty of petsmarts and petcos near our house, but you never get truly healthy fish from places like that.
I have to drive an hour away from my house to get to a quality fish store, but its worth it.

  18. If you search 'how to make a moving bed filter' or 'best moving bed filter ever', I have done a couple of videos showing how they are made and what they do. There are loads of related videos for them too.

  19. What are those type of filters you guys are using??? If its DIY.. which it looks like.. then how do you make them? or is it just undergravel filters?

  20. Provided you don't go crazy they should be OK. Salt is really best at a background level but I know one local shop that salts all it tanks routinely, causing them to tell people who buy fish to do the same (to prevent withdrawal) - stupid really. When have amazonian fish ever seen salt?
Livebearers are really the only tanks we add a bit of salt to, usually after they have just been imported to settle them and prevent bacterial problems.

  21. Might wish to add DO NOT ADD SALT if you have any Plec's in the tank. as it can burn them.

  22. It is an internl bacterial condition so treat for internal bacteria. It will help to add some aquarium salt to the tank also. It is a difficult condition to treat.

  23. how do you cure dropsy ?

  24. When I go to shops of our competitors, I have to admit I tend to be looking to see what dwarf cichlids, rare livebearers and unusual species they may have and judging that against what my shop stocks, so I don't really know which shops do malawi / tanganyikans in any sort of quantity.

  25. We only have one tank of hard water cichlids as our main focus is on softwater species. We can get them and they range from 3cm to 8cm+ (4 sizes) and are between £3.99 and £11.99
