Surgery on one our fish at the Vancouver Aquarium. This Red Irish Lord fish has a life-threatening condition known as egg-binding. Without surgery she would most likely die. She is put under anesthetic while our veterinary team operates on her. One month later her stitches are removed. She is released back into her habitat, healthy and recovered from her surgery.

ReplyDeleteYou can cook the fish body and the head of the fish would still be alive. Fish don't really feel pain and they live really strongly. Unlike us. We are weak and a little pinch makes us yelp in pain. You can bash a fishes body in and it wouldn't make a sound. In fact I've seen people eat raw fish and only the head was left but the fish was still alive. So fishes can't really die until you squash the head.
ReplyDeleteFish: WTF happened
