  2. They could be dieing from stress, crayfish stress easily especialy if they have no where to hide and just sit in plain view. Stress could be a factor, Oxygen in the water could be a factor, but crayfish are tough and wont starve they'll hack off there own claw to eat before they starve. Some native animals removed from there habbitat will refuse to eat in captivity and die, this could just be one of those cases.

  7. For example tablettes or (frozen) stints (Osmerus eperlanus) or other small fish.
But don't get them if you can't keep them!

  18. I like the color on him. The only ones I find around my area are a dark brown color and sometimes a really cool blue color. Are you in the south?

  19. The crayfish wasn't eating the plants, he just plucked some^^.
But you're right, the bigger he grew, the more dangerous he became. He killed one or two fish and so he had to move in another tank.

  23. Yes, they can live outside the water, they even dig their caves in the riverbank. But they don't necessarily need a place outside the water.

  24. Its funny that you say that... We live in central Florida and looked in our back yard and found one crawling along. Funny thing is that the nearest pond is about 1/4 mile away....
