Topwater Spro Frog in cold water
The water temp is only 56 degrees and I'm catching good bass on a topwater Spro Bronzeye Frog.

  1. What is your take on Spiderwire Stealth braid? I have the big 50lb test economy size box of it but I just replaced it with Stren mono. Now I noticed your said to use braid when using frogs. Right now I'm using a Quantum KVD sig series baitcaster. The reel is awesome but it seems like I can't get that great of a cast with the braid. Do the frogs have a good weight to them to get good cast distance? Any tips would be greatly appreciated Fluke!

  8. I'm a tight-wad. I don't believe a 200 to 500 dollar reel gives me enough advantage over a decent 100 to 175 dollar reel to make me want to buy it. I stick with Revo S and SX Reels and an STX if it's on sale. Other than that I don't even pay attention to the expensive stuff.

  9. What do you recommend for a great baitcaster? Fairly open price wise just dont recommend the Steez or Calais lol. Thanks for your time

  17. They are good frogs. I've fished a couple and they held up just fine but my hookups were a little better with the Spro.

  18. Does anyone know if live target frogs are any better/ equal to these? I have 5 different color of bronzeye frog from spro, and I have heard some good things about live target. But as you know, a lot of lures are just a bunch of hype. Thanks for your help!

  19. I don't know. I've never fished for pike with a topwater frog. In fact I've never fished for pike. We don't have them down here in the south.
